Different people are attracted to book clubs for different reasons. While there aren’t any «wrong» reasons, it is important to get clear on what the focus and goals for your group are. Incidentally, some people aren’t yet attracted because the reasons they see may not appeal to them.
No matter who you are or what kind of life you’ve had to this point, you can become the expert. And the expert is always in demand. Start now, don’t quit, keep practicing. A great concert pianist is at the keyboard every day, often for many, many hours. The dedicated mathematician does equations every day. The professional athlete trains every day. The expert presenter researches and prepares confidently for the next presentation, the next audience.

The act of becoming an Expert requires way more than just writing and sharing your knowledge. If you don’t get it in front of people how will they know it even exists? Yet, you also have to do things in the right way, otherwise all that work will be for nothing.
